Bushwick Jodi is an all-female Spaghetti Western set in contemporary Brooklyn.
After seven months in exile, “Bushwick Jodi” Penado returns to her old neighborhood to settle new scores. Once the most-respected outlaw in Brooklyn, Jodi discovers much has changed in her absence. Jodi’s former posse, The Kosciusko Kids, have seized control of Bushwick, and with the help of a corrupt sheriff, have begun a reign of terror.
Hellbent on justice, and the prospect of her own redemption, Jodi vows a campaign against her betrayers. Against all odds, Jodi must regain the trust of the neighborhood while confronting her own faults as a leader. How far is Jodi willing to go get back on top?
This allegorical adventure presents a unique take on a classic genre, centering women and POC in an historically exclusionary cannon.
Liquid Courage
Liquid Courage is a dark comedy about the horrors of war reimagined through a super-soaker fight. This short film juxtaposes the tropes of military cinema against the contemporary conscious culture of 2019, subverting both into a world that is uniquely Liquid Courage.
The story follows Lieutenant Grizzly and his platoon of rag-tag soldiers, as they embark on a mission, which almost certainly none of the will walk away from from - at least not in dry clothes. Along the way, personalities clash over topics of sexual orientation and drug use; soldiers are traumatized by water balloon fights, and none of them will ever be the same. Who will have enough liquid courage to survive the jungle make it back home?
